FIND YOURSELF AGAIN
FIND YOURSELF AGAIN
He couldn't see that his drinking was destroying everything and everyone he loved. "Why can't he just stop?" "He has four kids, shouldn't he be able to quit for them?". Sometimes he was okay to be around. Other times you'd walk on egg shells. In the end, he became a monster.
He was all talk. He was mediocre at best. He had completely lost hope in himself and he stood for nothing except his next drink.
Moments after this photo was taken, he decided suicide was his only escape.
His rock bottom was hell. On him, AND his family.
Ty found life in recovery. He is making daily amends to his children and their relationship has never been stronger. He found solace in triathlon and is a two-time Ironman athlete. He would not allow addiction to destroy his life any longer.
Through his experiences in recovery, he has made it his mission to educate men in similar situations and the family members that their behavior is affecting. He has a network of therapists and recovery centers across the nation and if after an intervention takes place, and treatment is needed, he has a wide variety of options available to recommend.
Mothers, wives, husbands, siblings...You are not alone and, you can get your life back while supporting your loved one in recovery. Men, it's okay to have feelings. It's okay to be a gentleman. Vulnerability is a strength and I can show you how to harness it. There doesn't have to be a rock bottom, I can help.
My personal journey through alcohol and addiction recovery, combined with my transformation into an Iron Man athlete, has equipped me with the unique ability to guide other men toward finding happiness and purpose in life. Having faced the struggles of addiction firsthand, I deeply understand the feelings of hopelessness and self-doubt that often accompany it.
However, I also know the profound joy and fulfillment that come from rebuilding your life, setting goals, and achieving them. Becoming an Iron Man taught me the power of discipline, resilience, and the importance of physical health in maintaining long-term recovery. By sharing my story and using fitness as a tool for healing, I aim to inspire and empower men to believe in their potential, reclaim their lives, and discover a renewed sense of strength, confidence, and happiness.

"I don't know what to do." "It's tearing our family apart." "He did 30 days and things were great, for a while." I hear this all too often from families navigating a loved ones substance use disorder. This cycle has to end. Addiction affects everyone. Therefore, the entire family needs recovery.
It is my mission to educate and support families with early recovery, treatment center placement, and continuing support for family members and the individual. We will discuss how to open healthy lines of commnication, establish boundaries, and utilize the necessary tools to navigate this deadly disease to create an atmosphere of lasting sobriety. Everyone is involved, right from the beginning. No ambushes, no surprises...complete transparancy and openness.
Together, we will work toward the best treatment option for each individual and their family. Either case, long term consulting and support for families and those affected by addiction are absolutely necessary for lifelong recovery.
Life will happen, we'll encounter bumps in the road, and we'll also have positive progress. There are tools available for all of it and we'll work together to handle them all so that you and your loved one have the best odds at a healthy and fulfilling recovery.
Often times, the solution is right in front of us and all it takes is someone else to point it out. You have what it takes to help yourself and your loved one suffering from substance use disorder. I'll be there to keep you on track and together, we'll discover your freedom again.
The disaster of addiction didn't happen overnight. Recovery will take time, let's do it together using evidence based methods and support one another through compassion and education.
Unknown - 12 step program
We have an informal conversation where we learn about each other and determine the best way to move forward.
Assess concerns surrounding the loved one affected (person of concern, POC) by substance use disorder. Discuss building a network of family and friends to support the intervention and comprehensive care. Schedule the intervention.
This is not an ambush. This is an evidence based intervention that has steps and guidelines to handle the various emotions that may arise during this emotional meeting. Empathy, love, patience, and education all aid in a peaceful intervention that can lead to the beginning of a healing journey and sobriety for the POC. We will establish guidelines and ground rules for the network and POC to follow.
Treatment can and often times does vary. We have relationships with professional recovery centers, nationwide, and the best options will be presented to you based on your unique situation. In-patient, out-patient, addiction consulting, or any other means of treatment can be explored.
At our weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly network meetings, we will repeat our ground rules and check in with the network to identify any questions or concerns. We will maintain an even playing field where the network and POC all have an opportunity to share.
